Shadows of the Year II

Last year we rang in the new year with a series of hour-long battles, where players were tasked with recovering a mysterious hourglass from the hag coven that had stolen it from father time. The battles raged across multiple timelines, with players playing different versions of their characters as they fought for the future... eventually the heroes prevailed and the new year was secured. Or was it?

Shadows of the Year is back for round two! This year has some pretty significant improvements:

• Rather than a drop-in/drop-out RSVP structure, we'll be selling tickets for the full six hour event. This will consist of three two hour sessions, played at levels 2, 5, and 8. Pregenerated characters will be available, or you can bring your own following the guidelines below. This event uses the D&D 5e 2014 ruleset.

• All tables will be playing the same content simultaneously, but we will coordinate shuffling players between rounds (we'll keep pairs or small groups together, but this event isn't intended for full groups looking to play the full six hours together.)

• The ticket cost includes a midnight toast, dessert, and a raffle ticket. Fancy attire is encouraged!✨

Note: This is original content, but is separate from The Leyfarer's Chronicle, is not Val'Ruvina canon, and does not award XP.

Content starts promptly at 5:30pm, to ensure we're on track for a midnight conclusion!

If creating your own character, you gain additional starting equipment based on your level according to the following table, and you can spend starting gp on any equipment at list price. (Additional starting equipment does not carry over to other rounds, but any loot acquired during an earlier session would carry over to the later sessions.)

• Level 5: 455gp, 1 uncommon magic item

• Level 8: 785gp, 3 uncommon magic items
