About the event

Whether you're an up-and-coming rookie in search of a new hobby or an experienced blader hungry for glory, you'll find competition and camaraderie at TPK Brewing's third Beyblade X tournament.

This tournament will be hard capped at 24 players and we don't expect to have room for spectators this time around unless you're supervising a minor playing in the tournament. The tournament will have the upstairs reserved for the full duration, but we will have live music running downstairs and need to be mindful of occupancy and volume out of respect for the performers.

Pre-registration through the website is required. Check-in will begin at 5, drafting will begin at 5:30 sharp; due to the team draft nature of this tournament, late entrants who haven't notified us ahead of time will be dropped with no refund.

This is an unranked tournament using the custom team draft rules below. Please make sure you review them before purchasing a ticket!

Main Beyblade X Tournament Rules

Bladers will start by drafting a beyblade, using a modified version of the TCG "Rochester Draft" rules. One beyblade per participant will be opened from its packaging and placed in a draft pod of players, along with one extra loose bit per player. In a randomized order, each player will then pick one blade until every available blade has been picked. Then, in reverse order, each player will pick one ratchet. This will then repeat for two rounds of bits, with each player ending the draft with a complete competition beyblade and one extra bit. All drafted parts will be provided by the tournament organizer as part of the entry fee and are yours to keep.

Bladers will then be assigned into teams of three at random and given fifteen minutes to practice and optimize their team's deck of three Beys. Teams can swap parts freely between matches, but only from the pool of options drafted by the teammates. Teams can similarly swap who will run each Bey, but only between matches. We encourage folks to trade drafted parts they might not want or need for their collection at home, but not until competition has concluded!

We will then proceed with the First Stage below. At the start of each match, each team will order their beyblades/bladers from 1-3 like in a traditional deck. Sets will be 1on1, with the losing team moving on to their next beyblade/blader while the winning team does not. This will continue until one team is out of bladers, with the other team being declared the winner of the match.

First Stage:

  • Swiss (3 Rounds), 1on1 to 4 points, Sets continue until one team has defeated all three members of the opposing team.

Finals Stage:

  • Single Elimination, Top Two Teams, 1on1 to 7 points, Sets continue until one team has defeated all three members of the opposing team.

Banned Parts:

  • Metal Needle (MN), Wizard Rod, Cobalt Dragoon, and CX beys will not be included in the draft pool.

Optional Rules:

  • Own finish (the first instance of an own finish from each blader during a set will award 0 points and subsequent own finishes will award 1 point as usual)

  • Out-of-bounds over finish

  • No restriction on duplicate parts
