All Hands on Deck: Casual Commander

We've recently added a Casual Commander Magic the Gathering night on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month! This event runs from 6-10 PM, with our staff helping arrange the pods before they battle it out for the rest of the evening.

These are casual nights, with players expected to run Bracket 2 Commander decks. That means decks are:

• Mechanically focused with some cards chosen for creativity/entertainment.

• Win conditions are incremental, telegraphed, and disruptable.

• Gameplay is low pressure, proactive, and considerate.

• Games are expected to last at least 8 turns.

• No game changers, mass land denial, chaining extra turns, or two card game-enders, lockouts, or infinites.

We do not have Commander decks to loan out, although we do stock a small number of preconstructed decks that meet the deck requirements. While experienced players are expected to help show new players the ropes, we would recommend at least a general understanding of things ahead of time and you can get started here.

Our Casual Commander nights cost $10 per person and your first drink is on us (excluding alcoholic cocktails.) Every win during the event earns you a free booster pack and we'll distribute additional promotional cards provided by Wizards as available.

To attend this event, you will need to create a Wizards account. You're welcome to create your account the night of, but we will need your email address to register you for the evening. This is an event for players 16 or older and capped at 12 players (three pods); online registration is recommended to ensure a seat.
